For week 2 of June’s 12 Months of Wellness, we’re spending our lunch breaks outside. It’s a welcomed breath of fresh air, and a chance to stretch our legs during the busy workday. Here’s what some alive staff had to say about spending their lunch breaks outside:

Whether I’m eating my food with the other alive staff on the patio, or making a quick phone call from the gardens near the parking lot, I do try to get outside on my lunch break. Admittedly, I don’t get out as often as I would like, but I definitely do feel a lot more relaxed during the second half of my day after I’ve spent some time out of the office!

It’s easy to feel like you’re missing out on a beautiful summer day by being at work—but by heading outside, lunch becomes a great way to get some fresh air and vitamin D, and to break up a long work day indoors! I find that spending half an hour outside allows me to come back in feeling refreshed, and a little less jealous of my friends who have spent the day lounging at the beach.

I wish I could say that I go out for lunch, but that’s not the case. My family does however eat as many dinners as we can on our little patio deck in the backyard to enjoy our little garden, time with the pup and chatting with neighbours.
